These are pics of some of my scratch built and kit projects. Elsewhere in these pages there are photos of work a kit project for a pair of girder bridges that may be useful; and a few shots of crossing signal witing (I should I'd better documented that project).

This was one of my early kit projects. I'm not one to get my knickers all knotted up over keeping everything ridgedly prototypical (I have too many hobbies for that); but I do have fun trying to work a little detailed into the layout.

Based on ideas I got from various YouTube videos, I built chain link fencing.

Preiser has a fantastic catalog of figures, from train conducters to couple screwing. Unfortunately, of the hundreds of figures they make, people of color only show up in stereotypical contexts, like their prison work gang set, or porters. As Supreme Leader of my own damn mini model railroading universe, I insist on equality of opportunity, damn it!!!

With this kind of bullshit from Woodland Scenics' prison work gang, one of the few figure sets to feature ethnic African Americans..., you can see why I take time to paint some of the figures for the layout.

With the advent of 3D printing, a lot of forms that might not be profitable for a large manufacturing concern to produce, are available through online distribution channels like Shapeways. Here I'm painting Jersey barriers that I found on that web store. I was also able to find a cell tower (scene here already painted). ...and yeah, they didn't have cell towers in the days of the B&O/Chessie system, and the PRR, but... I am the Supreme Leader of this modest realm, and I thought this cell tower was cool as shyt!

Unfortunately, I think I deleted photos of my build of this Kibri (intermodal) gantry crane. Here I'm added lights. ... Not as maticulous a job as many would insist on, but... this is a hobby of mine, and I do it for enjoyment. I totally respect the folks who are building out museum quality dioramas and such. But I don't have the time, skills, bank, or even the desire personnally, to go at it that hard...

... couple pics of a mashup I did of a popular building flat in late 2019, for the layout extension.
