2018 Trip to Ghana - Coming Home, Nkabom Grand Durbar


- Coming Home, Accra - Mole National Park - Nkabom Grand Durbar - Chale Wote Festival - Cape Coast -


We'd travelled long enough and far enough by car, that we had to fly back to Accra from Kumasi if we were to complete our itinerary.


Back in Accra, we rested and did some shopping, to get appropriate clothes for a very special event, ahead of Chale Wote!


As the day unfolded, we began to see the magnitude of the event we would be graced to attend.




As we were showered in the dignity and civility of Ghana's people...


We would meet and greet chiefs and leaders...






...And before the day would end, participant in the historic meeting of the Ashante paramount leader and the Akan paramount leader; AND be in the presense of the President...


What we are taught to dismiss as "tribalism," one needs to engage first had to fully appreciate, as a socio-political instrumentality, one that preserved a people's culture against no less that the might of the British Empire at it's Zenith.

We weren't suprised at all that the event made frontpage news in the national press, the next morning.
